Pack Customs


Positions

Alpha: The Alphas are the leaders of the pack. The Alpha pair are the only ones in the pack allowed to breed unless given permission. Their successor will be the first male born out of the first litter and become Beta. If no males are born in the first litter, the eldest female shall be their heir and become Beta. 
Beta: The Betas are in charge of the hunting party and are trained by the Alphas. Once the Alphas have their first litter the oldest male will become Beta but if the Alphas have no males in the first litter then the oldest female shall be in line for Beta.
Hunters: The hunters are trained and led by the Beta(s). They are responsible for providing the pack with food. During battle, they are known for their complex strategy.
Guards: The guards are responsible for patrolling the perimeter of the territory and are led by the Captain of the Guard, who is usually an older male or female.
Shaman: The Shaman is the pack healer and religious leader. He or she is gifted with the ability of wisdom and understanding.

Ceremonies 

Coming of Age Ceremony: Once a wolf turns 12 moons old they are awarded their symbol or war paint which is made from berries or plants. The colors range from purple, red, blue, or green. The ceremony is followed by a feast and celebration.
